Silver Bells. Intriguing bulb with stout flower spikes strung with drooping flowers of jade-green and silvery-white. When established, it increases freely and for this reason it is probably at its best among shrubs and under trees rather than in the border among delicate plants.
Flowering in mid-spring, it complements any mixed plantings of daffodils, bluebells or grape hyacinths growing in sun or light shade. In the wild it even tolerate's poor soils. If you have a scruffy wooded area where 'nothing will grow', this bulb is definitely for you. Height 40cm.
Suggestion: very effective grown with blue Muscari and Allium Purple Sensation, a spring show that will last for some three months.
Suggestion: it will complete any woodland planting of Corydalis, Erythronium, Hyacinthoides, Narcissus and Trillium.
