Chionodoxa forbesii Blue Giant
Chionodoxa forbesii Blue Giant, Lovely upward-facing lavender-blue flowers born in large numbers above fresh green leaves. It requires little in the way of special culture and it is as early, as hardy and as easily grown as any bulb we know. A perfect choice for brightening up the dull days of early spring.
This is the largest of the genus, holding from 8-12 flowers per stem. It will return for years, increasing year on year by seed and offset bulbs in not-too-dry soil, in sun or light shade. Plant generously in the lee of shrubs and hedges, front of borders, in pots, or as ground cover for early flowering daffodils and tulips. Height 15-20cm.
Suggestion: use as ground cover for early Tulips Showwinner and Stresa; Narcissus Jetfire, N. obvallaris or W.P. Milner.
