A beautiful garden ornament bringing a spire like grace to the garden in late spring. High above the leaves arises a strong flower stalk carrying many dark blue, starry flowers, opening from the bottom upwards over a period of weeks.
The American version of the bluebell and just as useful: plant them in groups in the border, in thin woodland, along pond edges or in damp meadows. Finest of all the blue-flowered Camassias. Very hardy and once established, leave them alone. Height 80cm.
Suggestion: best companion to Late-flowering tulips Blushing Lady, Marilyn, La Courtine, to name but a few …
Suggestion: grow with Narcissus Actaea for a lovely late spring and early summer association.
Suggestion: likewise with Leucojum near a pond or stream.
