Banja Luka
Banja Luka
Banja Luka, this tulip is one of the brightest feathers in the cap of spring.
Huge goblets of marigold yellow flamed and feathered in deep orange-red; so over the top that it deserves an applause. A brilliant and sturdy variety, very bright and smiling on a mid-spring day. One of the largest-flowered tulips – open blooms measure up to 20cm in diameter born on strong stems. It has been a while since a more arresting tulip has been introduced. Well worth planting in wide drifts in the garden or in large pots overflowing with forget-me-nots. Height 55cm.
Suggestion: We have seen Banja Luka planted with a generous clump of Muscari latifolium, bringing a warm contrast in colours and shape. As far as their culture goes, both bulbs love sunshine and a dry warm exposure.
