Bright pink daisies on thin 12cm stems above a carpet of finely divided leaves. A touch of sun is enough to bring it forth in early spring; one day it is not there, the next you are enchanted to find it swaying before you, a bright, ingratiating harbinger of spring.
The Grecian spring is personified in this lovely anemone. Delightful in a natural setting and best planted in sizeable groups. Give it a lightly shaded setting beneath high-canopy trees or in the lee of bushes where the sun can reach it for at least part of the day.
Suggestion: mingle with daffodils like Double Itzim, Rapture or Tracey, for a perfect early spring picture.
Suggestion: wonderful interplanted amidst the marbled foliage of earlier flowering Cyclamen coum and C. hederifolium.
