Cool, creamy-white globes – the size of a grapefruit – on top of 1m stems in late spring and early summer. These flowers are interesting before they open, glorious when in full bloom, and handsome long after the colour has faded.
In bloom it lasts for more than a month, connecting spring and summer flowering bulbs. Beautiful grown against a darker background where the ranks of ball-shaped flowers make an impressive landmark. Unusually, the leaves stay green well until flowering time and it will return for years in any reasonably sunny situation. Bees and butterflies love it.
Suggestion: interplant the bulbs with those of Allium Purple Sensation for a more playful look.
Suggestion: perfect in combination with blue and white Camassia.
