Christophii
Christophii
Christophii, One of the best of the ornamental alliums.
In early summer it carries colossal, spherical heads of starry, metallic-violet flowers which turn into strikingly attractive seed heads in autumn and winter. These dramatic flower heads measure up to 25cm across and always draw attention in the garden.
Excellent combination plant, creating strong accents in the perennial border. It prefers sun or light shade and is best grown among plants that will hide its faded leaves at flowering time. Not a vigorous spreader but holding its own for years to come. Height 50cm.
Suggestion: lovely in combination with Dutch Iris Oriental Beauty and Red Ember their open flower flowerheads look stunning floating admid frothy grasses such as Agrostis nebulosa, Festuca amethystina and Stipa.
