Allium Gladiator

Compact 12cm globes of lilac-purple on naked 1m tall stems. The flowers last for more than a month and remain handsome as a dry seed head even after they have gone by. A popular perennial bulb, best planted in sizeable groups.

Bloom starts from late spring lasting well into the summer, a period in which flowering bulbs are generally sparse. An effective plant for sunny places in the border but it will also thrive in partial shade, increasing well and forming nice clumps.

Suggestion: looks well teamed up with blue or white Camassia and a handsome addition to fern borders or the wild garden.

Suggestion: lovely in combination with Eremurus and bearded Iris.
