An adaptable bulb, growing well in sun and shade, with the first blooms appearing very early in the new year. The iceberg-blue flowers (bell-shaped, flattening out in the sun) push through the soil naked on 10-15cm stems. The charming, glossy green leaves follow later.
An indestructible bulb, returning for years and making quite an impact in the garden. The flowers are many and elegant, not flashy, and look especially lovely – as are all white toned flowers – against a background of green.
Suggestion: Crocus sieberi and Crocus tommasinianus make good companions. Also works with Corydalis, Cyclamen and the bright blue of the dwarf Iris reticulata Harmony.
