A tulip that roars like a lion. Blazing flowers with frilled and feathered fiery red petals and a glowing yellow base. When this great tulip blooms on its 50cm stem, it is indeed a striking object. A startling flower and easy to grow.
It stages its spectacular performance in mid spring and while it flowers, all else seems of small account. Try them for high lights in the garden or grow them in large planters, they lend themselves well for that purpose. Needless to say that they make great cut flowers.
Suggestion: it flowers from the time the Daffodils are in bloom. Yellow and white trumpets like Marieke and Mount Hood, both will work.
