Explosive fiery-red tulip illuminated by fringed golden-yellow edges. The brilliant flowers blaze out in the garden from mid-spring onward and show an intensity of colour not often found in tulips.
The colour holds well in sunshine and we have found it to be as rugged and easily grown as anything in our garden. Most effective in bold groups on their own since their splendour tends to puts our the light of lesser flowers. Perfect for distant effects, as focal points, or in pots on the patio. Height 45cm.
Suggestion: the planting could be softened with an edging of blue Muscari.
Suggestion: plant with yellow Narcissus Marieke, she brings the same intense colour to the border and blooms at the same time.
